Job Summary
The Vehicle Emission position is responsible for conducting thorough inspections and tests on vehicles to ensure compliance with environmental regulations. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a solid understanding of vehicle mechanics. The ideal candidate will utilize various tools and equipment to assess vehicle emissions, diagnose issues, and recommend necessary repairs or adjustments.
Duties
- Perform emissions testing on a variety of vehicles to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Utilize diagnostic equipment, including ohmmeters, to measure vehicle performance and emissions levels.
- Conduct visual inspections of vehicle components related to emissions systems.
- Document test results accurately and maintain detailed records of inspections performed.
- Collaborate with mechanics and technicians to recommend repairs or modifications needed for compliance.
- Stay updated on changes in environmental regulations and emission standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are in good working condition.
Experience
- Previous experience in vehicle maintenance or automotive repair is preferred.
- Familiarity with mechanical systems and components related to vehicle emissions.
- Proficient in the use of power tools and hand tools necessary for testing and repairs.
- Strong mechanical knowledge, with the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Experience working in an automotive shop or similar environment is a plus.
