Circle of Life Veterinary Clinic is looking to hire 1-2 veterinary assistants to join our growing practice! We are a small veterinary owned clinic in New Britian. Flexible hours and pay based upon experience.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assisting the veterinarian during exams and procedures
- Husbandry for resident cats
- Provide post-operative care and monitoring for animals recovering from surgery
- Making sure rooms are stocked with appropriate supplies
- Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration
- Taking medical history and recording accurate records
- Preparing patient medications
- Answering phone calls and scheduling appointments
- Engaging with clients and patients in a positive and friendly manner
- Checking patients in and out
- Clean and maintain examination rooms, surgical areas, and equipment
- Preparing patient specimens to be sent to the lab
The ideal candidate should have:
- Prior customer service experience
- Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or in a related animal care role
- Flexible availability
- Understanding of animal care principles and best practices
- Is familiar with handling and restraint
- Good communication skills
- Attention to detail
Additional Information:
- Must be able to lift >50 lbs
- Must have reliable transportation
