Shaker Technical Overview
This position is support of Modal Analysis testing for component hardware and accessories. This position will use electromagnetic and PZT shakers for capturing test specimen vibratory signature in the form of spectral and transfer functions. Input load vs output response curves will be generated in support of High Cycle Fatigue testing. This position will be responsible for all pretest setup, test execution, and report summary. Additionally, they will support testing/installation of any new vibratory equipment or techniques. Testing is generally in laboratory environment with occasional onsite field testing.
Qualifications:
- MS Office proficient (Excel/PowerPoint primarily)
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. on a limited basis
- Self-starter with limited managerial oversight
- Proficient written and verbal skills to both engineering and non-technical personnel
- Experience and familiarity with measurement sensors and digital signal analysis
- Soldering proficiency
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Goal oriented clear thinker
Education and Experience:
- AS/BS in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology
- 5 years industrial, laboratory, or manufacturing experience in lieu of BS
Requirements:
- Arrive at work on time, as scheduled, consistently, reliably, & complete each shift.
- Follow all safety rules and standards for the company and for the site.
- Understand and follow Instructions from the direct supervisor
General Laboratory Requirements
- Safety adherence for all aspects of the Modal Lab (cranes, equipment LOTO, electrical/etc).
- Qualification Card authorization for shaker testing per established standards.
- This position will support Modal Lab sensor calibration records.
- Support LEAN activities in Modal Lab.

Must be capable of operating a standard 1/2-ton pick-up for occasional delivery and pick-up of materials and personnel and hold a valid, unrestricted motor vehicle operator's license issued by the state of residence, and the manual dexterity necessary to operate a standard desktop computer keyboard.
