Role Summary:
The Vice President of the Corporate PMO will lead Lumentum’s enterprise-wide program and portfolio management function. This role is responsible for standardizing project management practices, implementing a strategic Project Portfolio Management (PPM) system, and enabling cross-functional alignment across Business Units. The VP will also support executive decision-making through scenario modeling and prioritization for complex, high-impact initiatives.
The role reports to the Chief Transformation Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and lead the enterprise PMO with a focus on governance, standards, and value delivery
- Implement and operationalize a PPM tool to enable portfolio visibility, resource planning, and investment prioritization
- Partner across Business Units and functions (e.g., R&D, Operations, Finance) to drive alignment on project goals and dependencies
- Lead scenario planning and analysis for critical programs, helping executives evaluate trade-offs and strategic choices
- Assist BU leaders identify bottlenecks and overallocations; help optimize resource planning.
- Monitor execution of key programs to ensure delivery on time, budget, and scope, with focus on strategic outcomes
- Build and mentor a high-performing PMO team, instilling a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in program and portfolio management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
- Proven success implementing enterprise PPM tools (e.g., Planview, Clarity, Smartsheet, etc.)
- Strong executive presence and ability to influence across business and technical teams
- Experience in scenario modeling, portfolio trade-off analysis, and strategic planning
- Background in high-tech or manufacturing preferred
- PMP or equivalent certification strongly preferred; MBA a plus
