We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President to join our Internal Audit team supporting Treasury and Liquidity audits. This role is located in New York City.


In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Perform internal audit works including drafting audit reports and presenting issues to the business and discussing practical solutions
  • Performs audit related activities and works as a team member on audit assignments.
  • Complete assigned audits work within budged timeframes
  • Knowledge and experience in broker-dealer services, investment advisory services, markets middle office and operations, clearance and collateral services, global payments, and trade finance services.
  • Performs risk-focused audit work, in accordance with Internal Audit policies, methodologies, and standards to identify meaningful issues, risks and other exposure areas of the company being audited.
  • Draws on extensive experience and/or specialist skills (e.g. technology, advanced operational knowledge, or first or second line experience, etc.) to plan and deliver audits.
  • Applies advanced analytical problem-solving skills and leads others in solving complex issues and identifying innovative solutions.
  • Identifies inconsistencies with the control environment, regulatory requirements and best practices and initiates the development of a structure or solution to address the issue(s).
  • Identifies opportunities for the use of automation and actively takes part in advancing recommendations for software support requests.
  • No direct reports. Demonstrates leadership through work guidance and training of less experienced peers and through advice to assigned clients.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • 5-7 years of internal or external audit experience, risk and controls, compliance testing, or Treasury & Liquidity business experience preferred.
  • Degree in Finance or Accounting and/or professional certification like CPA, CFA, CIA preferred
  • Knowledge of financial systems or exposure to larger financial institutions is required. Understanding of Liquidity Risk, IR Risk, or Market Risk is preferred
  • Excellent team player with effective project management skill
  • Additional core skill requirements include understanding of the applied and interpretation of analytics results for Audit, critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Liquidity Stress Testing, IRRBB Testing, IR Shock testing, understanding of FX/hedging, Operational Debt, FTP, and Corporate Treasury are preferred skills for this role

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $83,000 and $108,500 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
