POSITION OVERVIEW
Evernest is seeking a strategic and results-driven leader to oversee Multifamily Property Accounting by strengthening the team and core processes. This role is essential in developing a top-tier property accounting team, implementing institutional-quality reporting processes, and maintaining strong relationships with key financial leaders. Additionally, this leader will be responsible for integrating and consolidating the three existing property accounting functions to drive efficiency and scalability.
The ideal candidate has a proven track record of building and leading high-performing accounting teams, optimizing financial reporting, and fostering collaboration across departments. You should be as comfortable analyzing complex financial data as you are in coaching and developing accounting professionals. Strong communication skills, a process-driven mindset, and the ability to navigate relationships with both internal stakeholders and external partners will be critical to success in this role.

- Build and Elevate the Multifamily Property Accounting Department
- Define clear roles and responsibilities to support both current operations and future growth.
- Assess existing talent to ensure the right people are in the right roles.
- Structure, staff, and train the Property Accounting team for optimal performance.
- Maintain a team composed of 90%+ “A” players.
- Develop Institutional-Quality Financial Reporting
- Establish best practices and standards for timely, accurate, and high-quality financial reporting to ownership groups.
- Ensure all trust accounting processes comply with regulations and mitigate financial risk.
- Collaborate with Evernest Corporate Property Accounting teams to align with organizational standards and best practices.
- Implement a monthly QAQC checklist and training initiatives to reduce client reporting errors by 70%+.
- Enhance year-end property-level budgeting processes by Q3 2025.
- Build Strategic Client Relationships
- Establish direct relationships with key financial decision-makers at the top 20 customer organizations within the first 3 months.
- Integrate and Consolidate Property Accounting Functions
- Merge the Property Accounting teams and processes into a single, cohesive department.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance (Preferred)
- 3-5 years of leadership experience (Required)
- Multifamily property accounting experience (Required)
