Job Summary:
The Visitor Engagement
Attendants serve as one of the first points of contact for museum visitors at both its downtown Jones Center location and its west Austin location at Laguna Gloria.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide information about the museum and the art on view
- Greet museum visitors and process admission transactions
- Solicit museum memberships
- Complete store transactions, share shop merchandise details with visitors
- Answer and direct phone calls
- Open and close galleries and/or property gates and buildings when necessary
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Impeccable customer service orientation (helpful, courteous, professional)
- Excellent attention to detail; highly observant
- Previous retail or customer service experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity and interest in contemporary art preferred
- Must have reliable transportation to both locations
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and working on a computer.
- Light manual labor, lifting up to 20 lbs
