Flat River Outreach Ministries (FROM) has been in Lowell for 27 years providing services to the Lowell community. Our services include a thrift store, food pantry, financial services, tax support and many others. Job Overview:
Support the operations of Flat River Outreach Ministries by coordinating and overseeing all volunteer needs for the general program operations of the organization. This position reports directly to the Executive Director.
General Job Duties:
- Build professional relationships with volunteers
- Ensure a timely and positive transition from volunteer interest through volunteer training
- Coordinate volunteer development, including but not limited to: volunteer orientations, ongoing volunteer training, volunteer assignments, volunteer schedules, and volunteer recognition events (Note: volunteer forums may be needed for organization-identified areas)
- Schedule volunteers for annual programs and building maintenance activities
- Address high priority and chronic gaps in volunteer needs across the organization
- Build relationships with key organizations to encourage recruitment
- Maintain accurate volunteer data in SalesForce or other database
- Perform all background checks and consult with Executive Director when needed
- Assess all volunteers for proper program placement
- Communicate volunteer opportunities with Development team
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all volunteers
- Report time for community service members and other programs
- All other duties as assigned by supervisor to insure effective organizational operation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years in administrative or volunteer management experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; SalesForce or other volunteer management system knowledge a plus
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with set deadlines/guidelines.
- Able to work independently and manage time well
- Ability to balance completing tasks and developing relationships
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to changing situations as part of a team
- Ability to build and maintain mutually respectful relationships with a diverse population
- Experience as a volunteer with various organizations preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for both individuals and groups
- Available some weekends and week nights with advanced notice
- Reliable transportation
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
