Job Summary:
As VP, Technology Growth and Strategy, you will serve as a key member of the technology services leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO of Technology Services. Your mission will be to define, evolve, and execute a technology-led go-to-market strategy that drives revenue growth across strategic clients. This is a front-line revenue role — ideal for a visionary who combines deep technical knowledge with commercial savvy and consultative influence.
You’ll partner closely with Practice Leaders across Cloud, Data & AI, Cyber & InfoSec, and Applications & Integration to build and continuously improve our solution offerings. You will be responsible for enabling business development, in partnership with industry sales teams, supporting enterprise pursuit cycles, developing CxO relationships, and increasing our win rate on medium to large-scale technology services engagements.
This role demands thought leadership, client presence, solution innovation, and a proven track record of growing multi-million-dollar services businesses in the technology consulting industry.

Responsibilities:

- Lead Go-to-Market Technology Strategy: Define and evolve differentiated, high-impact solution offerings aligned with market demand and client transformation agendas.
- Accelerate Revenue Growth: Partner with sales, marketing, and practices to drive pipeline growth, solution qualification, and pursuit strategy — including direct involvement in top enterprise pursuits.
- Client Executive Engagement: Act as a trusted technology advisor to CxOs of key accounts; represent Toptal in thought leadership forums, webinars, and executive briefings.
- Solution Innovation: Champion the continuous refinement of our solution portfolio in collaboration with practice leads; ensure offerings stay ahead of market trends in AI, cloud modernization, cybersecurity, and enterprise integration.
- Deal Shaping & Architecture Oversight: Oversee early solution design and proposal development to ensure technical and commercial win themes align with client needs and Toptal’s delivery capabilities.
- Internal Leadership: Drive alignment across technology and delivery teams; mentor solution architects, delivery, and pursuits core team members across pursuits and delivery.
- Market Sensing & Thought Leadership: Represent Toptal’s point of view on emerging technology trends; publish thought pieces, engage in client workshops, and guide GTM enablement.
In the first week, expect to:
- Onboard and integrate into Toptal.
- Learn Toptal’s business model, our value proposition, and our story.
- Meet the team and understand targets and goals.
- Shadow critical teams throughout the organization to learn Toptal’s core operations and capabilities.
In the first month, expect to:
- Understand our go-to-market model across SMB and Enterprise, and be able to articulate Toptal’s capabilities and differentiators.
- Conduct market and industry research, identifying opportunities and form your hypothesis for business positioning.
- Partner closely with Sales & Marketing to research and validate the market opportunity and ability to fulfill the demand.
- Build your initial GTM approach, iterating on the GTM strategy for technology services, through feedback from direct client calls and meetings, while exercising discretion and independent judgment.
In the first three months, expect to:
- Start executing your Sales strategy leveraging internal cross-functional support from Legal, Finance, and others.
- Work with Sales Leadership to work collaboratively with account teams during both client pursuits and delivery.
In the first six months, expect to:
- Have shown material growth in gross revenue and pipeline volume in your category.
- Become deeply embedded in the Integrated Customer Framework for both SMB and Enterprise clients, participating in account planning exercises and industry events.
In the first year, expect to:
- Have broadened Toptal’s reach into key industry and subsectors.
- Be able to look back on consecutive quarters of growth, having achieved product-market fit and successfully realized your core business and sales KPIs.
Qualifications and Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required. Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise technology services, with 5+ years in an executive consulting services role.
- Proven track record of directly influencing $25M+ in annual revenue through consultative sales and strategic solutioning.
- Strong executive presence with experience in C-level client engagement, ideally across multiple verticals.
- Deep technical expertise across at least two of the following: Cloud Platforms, Data & AI, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Application Integration.
- Experience building and leading pre-sales and/or solutioning teams in a high-growth services environment.
- Strong understanding of modern delivery models including agile, DevSecOps, managed services, and global delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to translate emerging technology trends into sellable, scalable service offerings.
- Prior experience collaborating with sales and marketing on demand generation campaigns and pipeline acceleration.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills; comfortable representing Toptal at industry events and executive forums.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with bias toward experimentation, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience at a high-growth consulting firm or global systems integrator.
- Recognized thought leader in one or more of: GenAI/LLMs, cybersecurity transformation, cloud-native architecture, or industry-specific tech enablement.
- Background in P&L ownership or direct accountability for business unit financial performance.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including proposals and presentations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly growing company and handle a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a diverse array of contacts.
- Regular or periodic travel to meet and engage with Toptal clients and customers both inside and outside of your geographic location.
