Job Summary:
The Freight Forwarder Warehouse Clerk is responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate handling of goods within the warehouse. This role involves coordinating and managing the flow of shipments, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management:
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming shipments.
- Ensure accurate labeling and storage of goods in designated warehouse locations.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Order Processing:
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to customer requirements.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders and logistics providers for timely dispatch of goods.
- Prepare and verify shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs documentation.
- Shipping & Receiving:
- Load and unload shipments using appropriate equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
- *Must have knowledge and experience in loading and unloading containers.*
- Ensure that shipments are properly secured and protected during transportation.
- Maintain records of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory, shipments, and warehouse activities.
- Generate reports on warehouse operations, including stock levels, shipment status, and delivery performance.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Customer Service:
- Liaise with customers to resolve any issues related to shipments or deliveries.
- Provide timely and accurate updates to customers on the status of their orders.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including sales and logistics, to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures within the warehouse.
- Ensure that all shipments comply with local, national, and international shipping regulations.
- *Hazmat training would be a plus.*
- Report any safety hazards or incidents to the Warehouse Supervisor/Manager.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in logistics or warehousing is a plus.
- *At least 3 years of experience in a warehouse environment, preferably within a freight forwarding company.*
- Strong understanding of inventory management and shipping procedures.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks (certification preferred).
- *Must have knowledge and experience in loading and unloading containers.*
- *Bilingual: Must be fluent in both English and Spanish.*
- *Hazmat training would be a plus.*
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting and moving heavy items.
Working Conditions:
- Warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Regular use of warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Occasional overtime may be required during peak shipping periods.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
