Reports to: General Manager
Job Summary: The Warehouse Manager oversees all aspects of warehouse operations related to the storage and distribution of wine, beer, and other beverages. This role is responsible for managing inventroy accuracy, ensuring regulatory compliance (especially with alcohol-related laws), supervising warehouse staff, and maintaining high standards for product handling, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory & Product Management
- Manage inventory of wine, beer and related products, ensuring accurate stock levels and minimizing spoilage or breakage.
- Ensure proper rotation to maintain product quality and compliance with shelf-life standards
- Oversee the receipt, storage, and dispatch of temperature-senstive and fragile goods.
- Manage warehouse management systems for accurate tracking.
Team Leadership & Staffing
- Hire, train, and supervise warehouse staff, including pickers, forklift operators, and loaders
- Conduct regular performance reviews, team meetings, and training on safe handling of alcoholic beverages.
- Create and maintain efficient shift schedules to meet operational demands
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local alcohol distribution regul;ations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure warehouse environment.
- Enforce OSHA and other safety guidelines particularly related to handling glass containers and heavy kegs
Facility & Equipment Oversight
- Communicate maintenance of equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and temperature-controlled storage areas.
- Monitor refigeration systems to ensure proper storage temperatures for beverages.
Reporting & Process Improvement
- Generage inventory and operational reports for senior management
- Monititor key performance indicators such as order accuracy, stock loss, and fulfillment times.
- Recomment and implement process improvements to enhance effciency and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Be able to work in a non-climate controlled warehouse setting with temperature fluctuations
- Physical labor required (lifting, bending, standing) – must be able to move up to 50lbs regularly and up to 175 lbs when handling kegs.
- Occasional evening or weekend work during busy seasons or promotions
- Must be 21 years or rolder
