Join the Frog Hollow Team as a Part-Time Gallery Assistant (weekend availability needed)
Frog Hollow, the Vermont State Craft Center, is seeking a part-time Gallery Assistant to join our team on Church Street in Burlington. We are a mission-based organization with a rich history, founded in 1971 to support and showcase the work of Vermont's craftspeople. We're a team creating a vision for the future of our organization and are looking for a collaborative and self-motivated individual to help us in the gallery.
This is a part-time position with primary focus on weekend availability (Saturday and Sunday). There is a possibility for additional hours, particularly as we move into the busy holiday season and toward the New Year. This is a seasonal position through the holiday season, with the potential to extend if the gallery's needs continue.
What You'll Do
- Provide exceptional customer service and process sales transactions on our POS (Square) system.
- Assist with daily gallery operations, including hanging work, restocking, and occasional event coordination.
- Create engaging social media content and posts.
- Document artists' work for marketing and promotional purposes.
- Help with outreach to artists for special events and spotlight exhibitions.
What We're Looking For
- 1-2 years of sales or customer-facing professional experience.
- A strong interest in and knowledge of the arts and art processes.
- A keen eye for visual design and display.
- Proficiency with social media platforms and Google products (Gmail, Drive, Sheets, Docs, Calendar).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility and a willingness to contribute ideas to a shared vision.
As a member of our team, you will have the unique opportunity to exhibit your own work within the gallery, which represents over 120 artists from across the state. We are a casual and informal team that works hard and responsibly to support the artists and craftspeople we represent.
