The BRICK Buffalo Academy Charter School opened in August 2023 to a founding group ofkindergarten and first grade students. Overview
- Role: The goal of the Regional Generalist (RG) is to recruit students and staff for BRICK’s charter schools in Buffalo and Rochester. On an average week the role will be 50% in the community and the other 50% working in the office on managerial tasks.
- Success in the role is measured by the RG meeting the metrics below for both campuses.:
- Meeting their student enrollment targets by day one of school
- Being fully staffed by June 30 th , or within 30-days of a known vacancy
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Student Recruitment
- Assist Student Recruitment team with increasing the volume of quality, top-ranked student applications in the enrollment pipeline by 95% across all four BRICK schools.
- Effectively engage prospective families, providing guidance and assistance from application to
- enrollment.
- ALL children will have an unimpeded path to unlocking their limitless potential
- Develop and execute strategic community outreach plans and BRICK marketing, branding and recruitment strategy for designated campus.
- Develop strong relationships with community partners to raise awareness of BRICK school and coordinate lit drops, information sessions and tabling at daycares, community centers, and other potential candidates.
- Canvass, going door to door, interacting with community members, parents and families.
- Attend blitz days, community and church events, neighborhood outreach, and informational fairs to
- reach eligible families and promote BRICK schools.
- Coordinate and facilitate open houses, and school tours for prospective families.
- Staff Recruitment
- Develop and execute on the BRICK Education Network Talent Recruitment strategy. Strategy will
- utilize recruitment best practices and account for rapid growth and expansion of the network.
- Establish, measure, and regularly report on recruitment goals.
- Create and utilize tracking systems to keep open communication between recruitment and selection
- teams.
- Build and manage relationships with key partners, colleges and universities, high schools, and
- candidates.
- Build a recruitment pipeline for the network that will meet future needs.
- Codify practices and keep open communication with other people facing teams to ensure a positive
- candidate experience.
- Manage and coach individual team members and recruiters.
- Manage the recruitment budget.
- Staff Talent Acquisition
- Build a strong, diverse, pipeline of candidates for all aspects of the organization. This includes school leaders, teachers, support staff, and network positions.
- Design and direct the recruitment, selection, and hiring process for all employees, with the purpose of attaining high quality employees and ensuring diversity and equity throughout the organization.
- Develop and market the BRICK Education Network special sauce (brand)
- Cultivate relationships with strategic partners
- Represent the BRICK Education Network at key networking and recruitment events
- Create and manage a retention plan for the network and support school leadership in creation of a retention plan for each school campus.
- Create an update the annual referral plan to bring top-talent into the network, utilizing connections of current staff and supporters.
- Support the creation and revisions to a competitive compensation model that keeps the network in the 75th percentile (top 25%) in each region.
- Create and implement a candidate and staff feedback process to lead the talent team’s future growth and development.
- Partner with school leaders and regional directors/superintendents to ensure all regions are fully staffed by June 30 each year
- Project manage Talent Team projects related to recruitment and selection
- Facilitate and lead training as needed
Qualifications
- Current authorization to work in the United States – A candidate must have such authorization by his
- or her first day of employment.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to work some late nights and weekends.
- An eagerness to set ambitious, challenging, and tangible goals, and a relentless drive to achieve them.
- An ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and a capacity to remain calm and
- focused when faced with unexpected challenges.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including strong public speaking skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Word, Excel and other platforms. This role will manage multiple spreadsheets,
- databases and applications
- Bilingual is helpful but not required.
