The Utah Department of Natural Resources, Division of Wildlife Resources, has seasonal positions (no benefits) available at beautiful Glen Canyon National Recreation Area at
Wahweap Marina located in Page, AZ. This appointment has flexible starting and ending dates. Starting dates range from March-May with end dates between August-October.
Housing is provided.

Examples of Duties
Successful applicants will aid in implementing the Utah Aquatic Invasive Species
Management Plan, with particular attention given to preventing the spread of Quagga and
Zebra Mussels in Utah’s Waterways. After completion of training, technician’s primary roles will be public outreach and interdiction through on-sight watercraft inspection and decontamination using hot water. Technicians will record and enter data while maintaining open communication with supervisors and other agencies.

Job Requirements and Skills
Must be 18 years of age or older and possess (and maintain) a valid driver’s license. Must be able to work in the adverse conditions with little down time. Applicant must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekend and holidays. Must be able to work both independently and in a team setting. Applicant should and have excellent communication skills, as you will be working with other state, government agencies, and the public on a daily basis. Experience with data collection and entry is helpful. Prior knowledge and experience with boating and simple boat maintenance is preferred but not required. Must be able to work in adverse environments and maintain a positive attitude in unpleasant conditions.

Preference will be given to career minded applicants with or currently working towards completion of a degree in biological/environmental sciences, fisheries, social science, or similar field. This opportunity may also function as an educational internship.
