[Purpose of the Role]

The Associate Manager, Digital (Omni-Channel) Marketing, Japan & Micronesia is responsible for the end-to-end execution, operation and continuous optimization of Japan-specific owned digital channels and customer journeys, with a primary focus on the LINE ecosystem, IHG Japan-owned social channels and the IHG Japan website. The role also supports the localization and execution of Global and EAPAC campaigns in Japan & Micronesia, translating approved campaign direction into locally relevant and executable channel plans across IHG.com, web and app merchandising, email, mobile push, LINE and Instagram.

The role combines omni-channel planning and orchestration with hands-on execution, including content and asset coordination, platform and content setup, localization, stakeholder alignment, agency and technology-partner management, testing, quality assurance, launch readiness, performance reporting and post-launch optimization.

The role works across marketing, loyalty, brand, technology, analytics, regional and global teams, agencies and hotel stakeholders to deliver consistent, high-quality customer experiences, and contributes to direct-channel performance, customer engagement and revenue growth through effective omni-channel execution and continuous optimization.

[Your Day to Day]

Omni-Channel Planning and Orchestration

• Translate approved market, campaign and loyalty program priorities into actionable omni-channel plans across LINE, Instagram, IHG.com, email, mobile push and web/app communication and merchandising.

• Define the role of each assigned channel within the customer journey, including audience, message, timing, content format, landing destination and call to action.

• Develop and maintain integrated channel calendars, execution plans, work-back schedules, delivery trackers and launch-readiness documentation.

• Personally manage or complete required content and platform setup within the assigned scope, rather than limiting involvement to coordination and status tracking.

• Identify dependencies, required stakeholders, risks and ownership gaps early, and independently drive timely resolution.

• Consolidate performance results and convert findings into clear, executable improvements.

1. LINE Ecosystem Operation and Activation

• Manage day-to-day operation and execution of LINE Official Account and LINE MiniApp.

• Plan and execute landing pages, banners, rich menus, messages, campaigns and gamified experiences.

• Coordinate content, creative assets, hotel and offer information, terms and conditions, links, tracking requirements and other inputs required for execution.

• Manage content and platform setup, test-environment review, journey testing, QA and production-release readiness.

• Independently drive agencies, technology teams, internal stakeholders and hotel teams to maintain quality and timelines.

• Use performance and customer-behaviour data to improve content, targeting, journeys and activation mechanics.

2. IHG Japan-Owned Social Channel Management

• Manage the content and activation calendar for IHG Japan-owned social channels, with a primary focus on Instagram.

• Coordinate Feed, Reels and other assigned formats, including briefs, asset development, captions, approvals and publishing schedules.

• Collaborate with Paid Media, Brand, Campaign and hotel stakeholders to support traffic-driving and broader campaign objectives.

• Define how social channels connect customers to LINE, IHG.com and relevant campaign experiences.

• Manage agency deliverables and use reporting and learnings to improve content, formats and customer journeys.

3. IHG Japan Website Optimization

• Manage and continuously enhance Japan-specific content and customer journeys on IHG.com, including local market pages, destination and brand content, and campaign pages.

• Use analytics, search-performance data and customer-search intent to identify content gaps, journey friction and optimization opportunities.

• Apply SEO and emerging AI-search/AIO principles to content structure, titles, descriptions, internal links and answer-oriented content.

• Coordinate localization, agency production, stakeholder review, content setup, QA and publication.

• Connect website content with LINE, Instagram, email, mobile push and app journeys where relevant.

• Work with Global and EAPAC teams to balance global platform standards with Japan-specific customer and business needs.

4. Global and EAPAC Campaign Support and Execution

• Support localization and execution of Global and EAPAC campaigns in Japan & Micronesia, including partnership campaigns.

• Translate approved regional campaign direction into locally relevant deliverables across assigned omni-channel touchpoints.

• Manage assigned deliverables across IHG.com, web/app merchandising, email, mobile push, LINE and Instagram, including setup, localization, submission, testing, QA and launch readiness.

• Proactively secure required inputs and decisions from Global, EAPAC and Japan & Micronesia stakeholders.

• Identify where regional plans require local adaptation and provide evidence-based recommendations.

• Consolidate market performance, execution learnings and recommendations for future campaigns.

• Experience managing agencies, technology partners, suppliers or other external delivery partners.

• Experience operating in a global or regional matrix organization and supporting both local and global/regional activity.

• Experience in hospitality, travel, loyalty programs, retail, e-commerce or a consumer-platform business is preferred.

Technical and Channel Knowledge

• Strong working knowledge of owned digital channels, including websites, email, mobile push, apps and social platforms.

• Practical experience with LINE Official Account, LINE MiniApp or comparable messaging and mini-app ecosystems is highly desirable.

• Ability to interpret performance data and translate insights into executable channel and content improvements.

• Native-level Japanese and strong business English, with the ability to independently produce and edit publish-ready content and present in both languages.

Stakeholder Management and Leadership Capabilities

• Independently identify and engage the internal and external stakeholders required to deliver an initiative.

• Establish clear roles, responsibilities, decision points and deadlines across cross-functional teams.

• Confidently manage senior stakeholders, specialist teams, agencies, technology partners and hotel teams.

• Translate effectively between business, marketing, creative, analytics and technology stakeholders.

• Identify conflicting priorities or unclear ownership and facilitate practical resolution.

• Exercise sound judgment on which matters can be resolved independently and which require escalation.

• When escalating, provide context, business impact, options and a clear recommendation.

• Create clear briefs, decision records, meeting outcomes and follow-up actions.

Delivery Management, Governance and Quality Assurance

• Independently manage assigned initiatives from briefing through execution, launch, reporting and optimization.

• Proactively obtain inputs and drive decisions without relying on continuous direction from the Senior Manager.

• Identify risks, delays, quality concerns and ownership gaps early, and take action to resolve them.

• Take full ownership of Japanese and English copy and content quality, independently delivering publish-ready output without relying on review by the Senior Manager.

• Conduct and close out end-to-end QA across copy, creative, localization, links, landing pages, setup, tracking, audience requirements, platform display and customer journeys.

• Challenge incomplete briefs, unclear ownership, unsupported recommendations and deliverables that do not meet required standards.

• Document processes, decisions and learnings to reduce operational dependency on individual team members.
