Video Editor for a DTC Toys & Games Brand (Remote)
Job description
About us
Paired is a global staffing and recruiting agency that specializes in pairing remote work with top-tier talent!
We are dedicated to connecting talented individuals with remarkable companies in need of their skills. Our goal is to create fulfilling job opportunities for professionals around the world.
About the Company
Our client is an established toys and games brand coming off one of the most successful sport-related backyard game products in its category, and they're just getting started. They're now becoming a full sports, toys and games company, aiming to grow from zero to one million customers over the next three years.
Their products are loud, physical, competitive and made to be filmed.
About the Role
We're hiring a Video Editor who makes footage hit to work remotely with their team. This isn't about trimming dead air, adding captions and calling it done. You'll take a raw clip of a ball smashing into a target and turn it into something people watch four times before they scroll.
That means effects, motion graphics and transitions that actually land, sound design on every hit, whoosh and impact, and pacing so tight there's never a reason to look away.
You'll edit in two styles: high-end cinematic edits for brand and hero content, and fast, punchy direct response edits built to sell in ads. If you can do both, we want to talk. If you're elite at one, we still want to talk.
Job Responsibilities
Day to Day
- Paid ads: Turn creator footage and product clips into scroll-stopping ads for Meta and Instagram, built around strong hooks and clear selling points.
- Organic social: Create Reels, TikToks and Shorts with energy that matches the products.
- Effects and motion: Add on-screen text, tracking, speed ramps, impact frames, shakes, graphics and anything else that makes a moment pop.
- Sound design: Put SFX on every action, sync cuts to the beat, and choose music that drives the edit instead of just sitting under it.
- Hero and launch content: Produce high-end edits for new product drops and seasonal campaigns.
- Variations: Cut multiple hooks and versions of winning edits so the team can test fast.
Requirements
- A portfolio that makes us stop. Nothing else matters as much as this.
- Proven experience editing ads for real DTC physical product brands. We want to see work that actually ran and sold something.
- Mastery of effects, transitions and sound design, not just cutting and captions.
- A feel for short form: you know what makes someone stop, watch, rewatch and share.
- Range across cinematic and direct response styles, or world class in one of them.
- Fast turnaround without dropping the standard.
- Organized and reliable: you label and store files properly, hit deadlines and give updates without being chased.
- Bonus: Experience editing for sports, gaming or toy brands.
Benefits
- Competitive pay of up to $50 USD per hour. Where you land depends on your experience and portfolio.
- Part-time role with flexible hours.
- Ongoing work with real room to grow. For the right editor, there's a constant flow of work as the brand launches new products.
- Creative ownership over how the brand's products look and sound on screen, as part of a company in a high-growth phase.
- 100% remote work flexibility from anywhere.
- Collaborate with creators and an ambitious e-commerce team.
Skills mentioned

Paired, legally known as Better Half Ltd., embarked on its journey in 2019, born from a personal need identified by co-founder Kevin Shanahan. He recognized a gap in the support available for couples who weren't necessarily in crisis but wanted to proactively nurture and strengthen their relationships. Traditional therapy often felt like a solution for distressed couples, but Kevin envisioned a tool that could help partners maintain a healthy connection and address potential conflicts before they escalated. This idea sparked the creation of Paired, and with co-founder Diego Lopez joining the mission, the app began to take shape. Their vision was to create a fun, accessible, and evidence-based platform to help couples improve communication, deepen intimacy, and navigate the complexities of long-term partnership. The early days saw Paired launching globally in October 2020, quickly gaining recognition for its innovative approach. The app's core concept revolves around daily prompts, quizzes, and games designed by relationship experts, therapists, and academics. These engaging activities encourage couples to dedicate a few minutes each day to connect, discuss important topics, and learn more about each other. The platform's content is rooted in research, drawing on decades of studies into what makes relationships thrive. This commitment to an evidence-based approach has been a cornerstone of Paired's philosophy from the outset. The company has actively collaborated with academic institutions like The Open University and the University of Brighton to validate its effectiveness, with studies showing significant improvements in relationship quality and communication for users. This dedication to not only providing a service but also contributing to the broader understanding of relationship dynamics underscores their mission to make lasting love more achievable for everyone. Since its launch, Paired has grown significantly, attracting millions of downloads and securing funding from notable investors, solidifying its position as a leading app in the relationship wellness space.
