Finance Manager

Our client, a growing renewable energy company, is looking for an experienced Finance Manager to oversee the company's financial operations, financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and financial planning. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting business growth, managing project finances, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Management & Reporting

• Oversee the full spectrum of finance and accounting functions, including month-end closing, financial reporting, and management accounts.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic business decisions.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of statutory reports and financial documentation.

2. Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning

• Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic financial forecasts.
• Monitor financial performance against budgets and analyse significant variances.
• Develop financial models and projections to support business planning, investment decisions, and project feasibility assessments.

3. Cash Flow & Treasury Management

• Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure sufficient funds for daily operations and project commitments.
• Manage banking relationships, financing arrangements, and loan facilities.
• Oversee cash flow projections for renewable energy projects, including project development and operational phases.

4. Project Finance & Cost Control

• Monitor project budgets, capital expenditure (CAPEX), and project-related costs.
• Evaluate project financial performance, profitability, and return on investment.
• Support project financing activities, financial due diligence, and investment appraisals.
• Work closely with project, engineering, and management teams to ensure effective cost control and financial risk management.

5. Tax, Audit & Compliance

• Oversee corporate tax matters and coordinate with external tax agents, auditors, and other professional advisers.
• Ensure compliance with relevant statutory requirements, tax regulations, and applicable Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) or MPERS, where applicable.
• Strengthen internal controls, financial policies, and procedures.

6. Team Management & Business Partnering

• Lead, coach, and develop the finance and accounting team.
• Work closely with senior management and cross-functional teams to support business operations and strategic initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting efficiency, and cost management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or membership with MIA will be an advantage.
• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting
• Experience in the renewable energy, power generation, utilities, infrastructure, engineering, or project-based industries is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, taxation, and statutory compliance.
• Experience in project costing, CAPEX monitoring, financial modelling, or project financing will be an advantage.
• Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in Mandarin is required to communicate effectively with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
