Senior Software Engineer – AI & Automation

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer – AI & Automation to build greenfield applications and automation solutions that integrate LLMs and AI capabilities into real business and IT processes. The role focuses on hands-on software engineering using Python, C# or Java, developing APIs and integrations, RAG-based solutions, automated workflows, testing, monitoring, and repeatable deployments. The engineer will work directly with business stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and deliver complete, production-ready AI-enabled applications and internal mini-products rather than developing AI models themselves.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop applications and services using AI and LLMs

• Build business logic around existing AI models

• Integrate AI solutions with existing applications and systems

• Build APIs and system integrations

• Identify business processes which can be automated using AI

• Translate business requirements into technical requirements and acceptance criteria

• Develop automated tests

• Implement monitoring for developed solutions

• Build repeatable deployment processes

• Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of AI outputs

• Optimise performance and cost of AI solutions

• Implement security and data protection requirements

• Document technical solutions and processes

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years software development experience

• Strong practical programming skills in at least one language: Python, C# or Java

• Experience designing and developing applications, services and APIs

• System integration experience

• Database experience

• Automated testing

• At least one real AI solution used by actual users

• Clear personal contribution to the code and architecture of that AI solution

• Practical experience integrating existing AI models / LLMs into applications

• Practical use of AI tools or AI agents during software development

• Ability to validate AI-generated code rather than simply accepting generated output

• Experience using AI for requirements, development, testing or documentation

• Understanding of IT security and data protection

• Ability to analyse business processes and identify automation opportunities

• Ability to work directly between business and technology
