Assistant Manager, Space Planning
Job description
The Assistant Manager, Space Planning supports the University's planning, allocation, utilisation and optimisation of its campus space portfolio. The role applies space data, analytics, forecasting and digital planning capabilities to support evidence-based decisions. The incumbent coordinates assigned planning workstreams, engages stakeholders across the University, and translates analysis into practical recommendations that improve space utilisation and planning outcomes.
MainResponsibilities
- Support campus-wide space planning, allocation, utilisation and optimisation across assigned portfolios and planning initiatives.
- Conduct space demand assessments, utilisation analysis, capacity planning and scenario modelling to support current and future space requirements.
- Maintain reliable space inventory and planning data, apply data governance standards, and develop dashboards, analytics and management reports.
- Support digital space planning capabilities, including data models, visualisation tools, planning analytics and space information systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve the utilisation and efficiency of existing campus assets and support strategies to address space constraints and emerging needs.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators, dashboards, and management reports to provide timely insights into space utilisation, capacity, demand, and portfolio performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Real Estate, Facilities Management, Data Analytics, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years experience in strategic space planning, campus planning, real estate portfolio management or a related field, preferably within a large and complex organisation.
- Track record in space demand assessment, utilisation analysis, capacity planning, planning analytics or optimisation of physical assets.
- Strong analytical and data capabilities, with experience using space information systems, dashboards, business intelligence tools, data visualisation or planning analytics.
- Strong problem-solving, project management, communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
