Overview
The Media Manager is the leader in project scoping and delivery – a ‘go to’ person to manage the clients’ business. He/she will be responsible for developing and implementing ongoing strategic communication solutions that achieve objectives and measurable results.
Performing an end-to-end communication management role, the Media Manager is responsible for on-time delivery and accountability. To do this role effectively you must also be incredibly flexible to meet changing client needs. This role also includes developing project team members and providing effective feedback, coaching and direction that enables them to learn and grow on-the-job.
There is also a business development element to the role which involves farming current clients for new opportunities and growing existing opportunities as well as supporting directors in looking for new business.
What does a Media Manager at SCREAME do?
You are responsible for leading through the line (online, online) media communication strategies. Through creative thinking with factual analysis, develop appropriate approaches, ensuring campaigns reach their target audiences as effectively and efficiently as possible.
A keen analytical mind and interest in consumer behaviour to build the foundation of every strategy and plan. Working with syndicated and sourced data to provide insights and recommendations that answers the brief and objectives. A deep understanding on the local media landscape and keeping yourself updated on the latest trends and developments via constant communications with vendors and technology providers.
Be a sharp and effective negotiator, by understanding the client’s and campaign’s needs and procuring the best value for the project in terms of quality. Less can be more at times.
Working with various stakeholders eg creative, media vendors, clients, teammates etc to ensure a collaborative, professional and smooth partnership on all projects. Taking on the initiative to be malleable and quick on your feet when crisis arises, providing solutions and minimising any damages. Roles &responsibilities
- Leads the client servicing role and ensure their needs are always addressed.
- Attends client briefing or progress meetings and prepare briefs/background
- Aligns communications practices with business goals and client KPIs/milestones
- Develops and present proposals, pitches and new business meetings in partnership with a director
- Provides a clear brief, always including rationale and context, to the project team and engage them in the strategic objectives of the project
- Monitors and manages on-going campaigns to ensure they are on plan and optimise for better performance.
- Provide insightful interim and post campaign report that can be utilised for kick starting future projects or learnings for upcoming campaigns.
- Ensures that Clients are efficiently charged for the work the agency has performed
- Keeps her/himself updated on latest media developments and trends. Keen to upscale knowledge through self-learning or external vendor workshops.
- Guide executive/s to manage day to day executions and train them on media and client servicing fundamentals.
What do we want in our Media Manager?
- Minimum of 4-5 years work experience in a media agency and have the maturity to manage a team of executives.
- Well versed in offline and digital platforms, namely
- 1. Offline: print, outdoor, radio, magazines, etc
- 2. Online: Digital portals and other self-serve platforms like SEM, Programmatic, Facebook/ Instagram, Outbrain, etc
- Experience with digital 3rd party ad serving
- Keen interest in meeting new people and always being articulate and confident
- Being able to look deeper into numbers and tell a meaningful story and providing value with insights
- Ability to think challenge norms and bend rules in providing solutions
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure to meet deadlines without sacrificing professional standards
- Demonstrate expertise in strategic thinking, development of media communications strategies, optimising and executing media plans.
- Well established professional development network and active participation in ongoing learning opportunities
- Leader/manager of a project, with end-to-end responsibility for the delivery as well as achievement of objectives and measurable results.
Training:
Depending on our campaign needs and your hunger to learn, we will be provide training based on the projects you are allocated to.
