Overview
Our client is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the design, development, system integration and validation of vehicle-mounted Vision Systems for defence, specialised vehicle and automotive applications.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role covering Vision Systems, multidisciplinary system integration, mechanical/electrical interfaces, thermal and vibration management, as well as product development through to production and field deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development and integration of vehicle-mounted Vision Systems, including cameras, sensors, displays and related interfaces.
- Lead multidisciplinary system integration across mechanical, electrical/electronic and vehicle systems.
- Drive thermal and vibration management for ruggedised / vehicle-mounted systems.
- Lead system verification, validation and qualification against customer and applicable industry / military requirements.
- Manage engineering projects from requirements, design and prototyping through integration, validation and production.
- Provide technical support for production, quality, suppliers and customers, including troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
- Support FAI, system testing, production transfer and field/RMA investigations.
- Lead, mentor and develop engineers and build capabilities in systems engineering and Vision Systems.
- Drive engineering quality, project delivery and technical performance.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechatronics Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant engineering experience, including at least 5 years in System Integration and Engineering/Technical Leadership.
- Strong experience in Vision System design, development, integration and validation.
- Good knowledge of thermal and vibration management for vehicle-mounted or ruggedised systems.
- Experience in system verification and validation against industry or military standards.
- Strong multidisciplinary engineering, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Proven experience managing engineering projects from concept through production and field deployment.
- Strong leadership, project management and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in defence, military vehicles, specialised vehicles or automotive systems will be advantageous.
