About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Full-stack Engineer with an interest in data engineering and AI/ML to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in backend development, cloud technologies, DevOps automation and application security, and will contribute to developing and maintaining applications whilst learning to integrate AI/ML components and handle data pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of end-to-end application development, integrating frontend, backend, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Optimize full-stack CI/CD deployment strategies, ensuring seamless and automated releases.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to implement data pipeline solutions into production environments
  • Develop high-performance backend services and APIs, ensuring reliability, security, and observability.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI/ML technologies to optimise data pipeline solutions.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation
  • Support the testing and debugging of applications across different environments

Requirements

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience working with database systems (SQL and NoSQL)
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs and web services
  • Familiarity with backend service scalability strategies (horizontal scaling, autoscaling, load balancing).
  • Basic understanding of web development frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js for frontend; Django, Node.js, or Flask for backend)

Preferred skills

  • Understanding of data processing libraries (Pandas, NumPy)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform).
  • Knowledge of containerisation (Docker) and orchestration tools
  • Basic understanding of data structures and algorithms
  • Familiar with AI/ML RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation)
