Infrastructure Engineer (Network)

Role scope

• Provide enterprise-level network infrastructure services to multiple business units and organisations.
• Design, deploy, manage and continuously enhance large-scale network infrastructure and services.
• Support and deliver large-scale network initiatives, including wide-area and site-level network connectivity.
• Work with internal teams and external service providers to plan, coordinate and deliver network infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and technology teams to design network solutions that address current and future business requirements.
• Drive the standardisation and optimisation of network services to improve service delivery, operational efficiency and maintainability.
• Work closely with vendors and stakeholders on network implementation, operations, service delivery and ongoing infrastructure improvements.

Technical requirements

• Enterprise network infrastructure design, deployment and management.
• LAN / WAN networking.
• Routing and switching.
• VPN and Internet routing.
• Software-defined networking (SDN).
• Network infrastructure security.
• Troubleshooting and L3 support.
• Understanding of large-scale enterprise network environments.
• Network automation is advantageous.
• Data analytics / service improvement experience is advantageous.

Experience / qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the design, deployment and management of enterprise-level network or ICT infrastructure.
• Candidates with a diploma or equivalent qualification should possess substantial relevant experience in enterprise network infrastructure.
• Professional certifications such as CCNA, ITIL, project management or related infrastructure/networking certifications will be advantageous.
• Experience supporting large-scale, complex or multi-site enterprise environments will be an advantage.

Non-technical requirements

• Vendor / outsourced service-provider management.
• Project and stakeholder management.
• Ability to work with architects, consultants and government agencies.
• Ability to present technical matters to non-technical stakeholders and senior management.
• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Ability to influence stakeholders.
