[What you will be working on]
As Lead / Senior UX Designer, you will play a key role in shaping accessible, inclusive and user-centered digital services that support SG Enable's mission of enabling persons with disabilities to live, learn, work and play in an inclusive society.
You will lead design across digital products and services that help persons with disabilities, caregivers, service providers and other ecosystem partners discover, access and deliver essential support. You will be forward deployed to SG Enable and work closely with business stakeholders to drive design excellence and help transform complex service journeys into seamless, intuitive and meaningful experiences.
You will hire and mentor designer(s) under your care, while working hands-on where needed to solve complex design challenges. Your leadership will be instrumental in establishing strong user-centered design practices, championing accessibility, and influencing how digital products and services are conceived, developed, and continuously improved.
As Lead / Senior Designer, you will:
Drive UX strategy and design direction
- Define and drive UX and service design strategies that align with SG Enable's digital transformation priorities and service outcomes.
- Champion human-centered and inclusive design approaches, ensuring that the needs of persons with disabilities, caregivers, service providers and other stakeholders are considered throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Influence and educate senior stakeholders, product teams and policy partners on the value of user research, accessibility and evidence-based design decisions.
Lead product and service design delivery
- Partner with product managers, engineers, business owners and policy teams to shape product strategies and roadmaps, ensuring user needs and service outcomes inform prioritization and delivery.
- Lead the design of intuitive, accessible and cohesive end-to-end experiences across multiple digital products, platforms, and service touchpoints.
- Translate complex policy, operational and technical requirements into simple and effective user experiences, balancing user needs with business and technology constraints.
- Plan and prioritize design work across initiatives, ensuring design resources are deployed effectively to maximize user and service impact.
- Provide design direction and quality oversight across products, ensuring consistency, usability and alignment with government digital service standards.
- Oversee design work delivered by external partners, ensuring solutions meet established quality, usability and accessibility standards.
Champion accessibility and inclusive design
- Establish and advocate for accessibility and inclusive design practices across the product development lifecycle, including research, prototyping, testing and implementation.
- Ensure digital experiences consider users with diverse physical, sensory, cognitive and communication needs, including compatibility with assistive technologies.
- Work with product and engineering teams to embed accessibility requirements, testing, and continuous improvement into delivery practices.
- Promote inclusive user research by engaging persons with disabilities, caregivers and frontline service providers to uncover unmet needs and validate design solutions.
Measure impact and continuously improve
- Work with product teams to define and track meaningful UX and service performance metrics, including usability, accessibility, task completion, service adoption and user satisfaction.
- Use qualitative and quantitative insights to identify opportunities for improvement and inform product decisions.
- Foster a culture of experimentation, continuous learning and evidence-based design.
Lead and grow design capability
- Hire, coach and mentor designers, helping them develop their craft, strategic thinking and ability to deliver meaningful outcomes.
- Provide hands-on design leadership for complex or high-impact initiatives, demonstrating strong design practices from discovery through implementation.
- Build strong collaborative relationships across multidisciplinary teams and foster a culture of design excellence.
- Support the professional growth and career development of designers, encouraging expertise in accessibility, inclusive design, product thinking, and service design.
[What we are looking for]
- 10+ years designing and shipping digital solutions end-to-end — from insight to product and service delivery, to GTM and impact
- 5+ years leading and growing design teams, with proven success building design culture and capability across disciplines
- Experience leading design across complex, multi-stakeholder environments (B2B, enterprise, or platform experience is particularly relevant)
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and portfolios while maintaining quality and impact
- Mastery across design disciplines — problem framing, research, service design, product design, prototyping and storytelling — turning insight into action and inspiring others around it
- Strong understanding of accessibility and inclusive design principles, including WCAG standards and designing for users with diverse needs and abilities is a must.
- Experience planning and conducting user research with diverse user groups, including adapting research methods to accommodate different accessibility and communication needs.
- Comfort working at the edge of tech and design — fluent enough in APIs, system integrations, data-driven interfaces, and permissions models to co-create with engineers
- Strong communicator and storyteller who builds trust quickly and brings people together at all organizational levels
- A passion for creating meaningful social impact through technology and a commitment to building digital services that work for everyone.
Good to have
- Experience designing digital services for the public sector, social services, healthcare, education or disability support ecosystems.
- Experience working with assistive technologies, accessibility audits, or inclusive usability testing.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a drive to create impact for public good
