Project Engineer (Generators / Switchgears / Transformer / UPS)
Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented engineer to manage and deliver industrial and engineering projects. You will work closely with the sales team, customers, distributors, and the Industrial Solutions team to keep projects running smoothly, from the initial feasibility study through to final handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and manage projects so that key milestones are delivered on schedule.
- Develop and maintain master project schedules, tracking progress against agreed milestones.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project activities are implemented effectively.
- Oversee cross-functional responsibilities and keep deliverables aligned with project milestones.
- Organize and lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) with customers and distributors.
- Make sure all project documentation is reviewed, approved, and finalized before delivery.
- Schedule and coordinate on-site testing and ensure a smooth handover to the aftermarket (service) team.
- Provide first-line technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support feasibility studies and cost estimation as part of project management activities.
- Submit monthly project status reports that highlight key issues and risks, and follow up on resolutions.
- Support project submittals by providing engineering input on third-party products and drawings.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen project execution processes.
- Work with interplant counterparts on deliveries, factory testing, and documentation.
- Partner with the scheduler, customer service, and production teams to update project status in weekly meetings.
- Attend site meetings with contractors and consultants as needed.
- Manage site installation activities to ensure timely completion.
- Coordinate with subcontractors on installation works, material approvals, and drawing submissions.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, with minimum 2 years of relevant working experience in a similar role.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in project management.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks at once.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
