Job description

Market Risk Management

• Support daily market risk monitoring and reporting across physical and derivative commodity positions, as well as foreign exchange exposures.
• Analyse daily risk positions and P&L movements, and prepare reports for the Risk Management Department.
• Gather market prices from multiple sources and develop daily price curves for upload into the trading system.
• Conduct periodic risk assessments, including month-end and quarter-end inventory valuation, as well as year-end back-testing and stress-testing.
• Ensure all risk reports and analysis are completed accurately and within the required timelines.

Credit Risk Management

• Monitor and assess the credit exposure of customers using the designated risk management system.
• Review customer positions against approved credit and position limits on a daily basis.
• Prepare and maintain daily credit risk and position reports for management review.

Market Analysis

• Monitor key developments in the oil and energy markets, including market fundamentals, macroeconomic factors and price movements.
• Consolidate relevant market intelligence into a weekly market report and present key findings to the Front Office team.
• Support the Manager, Senior Manager and General Manager with other risk management or market-related assignments as required.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience within an oil & gas trading company; experience in Middle Office / Risk Management within energy or commodity trading is preferred.
• Familiarity with commodity trading and risk management systems, such as Entrade, will be an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications; knowledge of VBA, Power BI and Power Automate is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with good attention to detail.
• Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
• Good time management and ability to meet daily reporting deadlines in a fast-paced trading environment.
