About the role

Greatech Integration (S) Pte Ltd is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our growing team in the East Region of Singapore. As a Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing, designing, and maintaining software solutions that power our business operations and drive innovation across our technology portfolio. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to work on meaningful projects whilst contributing to the strategic objectives of the organisation. You will be at the forefront of our digital transformation initiatives, working with cutting-edge technologies and collaborating with a dedicated team of professionals committed to excellence.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software and automation applications.
• Develop and modify PLC programs for automated machinery and systems.
• Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, and Project Engineering teams to understand project requirements and deliver integrated solutions.
• Perform software integration, testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and system optimisation.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirement gathering and design through commissioning, deployment, and support.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure compliance with programming standards and best practices.
• Support machine installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting at customer sites when required.
• Prepare and maintain software documentation, technical specifications, and programming standards.
• Use version control systems and established development workflows.
• Identify opportunities to improve software performance, system reliability, and development processes.
• Stay updated with emerging automation technologies and recommend suitable solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience in software development, PLC programming, industrial automation, or system integration.
• Hands-on experience with Beckhoff PLCs is highly preferred.
• Experience with other PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley (AB) and Siemens is an advantage.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, C++, Python, Java, or JavaScript is an added advantage.
• Good understanding of software development principles, object-oriented programming, troubleshooting, and debugging.
• Experience with industrial automation, machine control, or system integration is preferred.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Willing to travel to customer sites and support projects when required.
