QA Automation Engineer (AQA)
Job description
We are looking for an experienced QA Automation Engineer to join a technology team developing a next-generation platform for advanced traffic management and complex junction scenarios.
The platform leverages advanced sensor fusion and complex software components to support reliable and intelligent traffic management solutions. As part of the QA team, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining automated testing solutions that ensure the functionality, performance, reliability, and stability of the platform.
This role is ideal for an automation-focused QA professional who enjoys working with Python, ROS2, test automation, CI/CD, and modern monitoring tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain a robust test automation framework.
- Create comprehensive and well-structured automated test cases covering software functionality, reliability, and performance.
- Develop automated test scripts using Python and PyTest.
- Work with ROS2 and its Python client library (rclpy) to develop and execute automated tests for ROS2-based components.
- Use Colcon and ROS2 CLI for building, testing, and troubleshooting ROS2 packages and components.
- Execute automated test suites and analyze test results to identify defects, regressions, and system issues.
- Investigate failures and collaborate with developers and other technical stakeholders to identify root causes.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and faster feedback.
- Work closely with DevOps engineers to ensure reliable and efficient test execution within CI/CD environments.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Architects, and Developers to understand requirements and create detailed test scenarios and test cases.
- Contribute to improving test coverage, test quality, and automation efficiency.
- Use Prometheus and Grafana to support monitoring and analysis of system behavior and test environments.
- Create and maintain documentation related to the test automation framework, test cases, test results, and testing processes.
- Participate in continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and practices.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of commercial experience in software testing, with a strong focus on test automation.
- Strong experience with Python and PyTest.
- Hands-on experience developing and maintaining automated test frameworks.
- Practical experience with ROS2.
- Experience with rclpy (Python client library for ROS2).
- Experience using Colcon for building and testing ROS2 packages.
- Good knowledge of ROS2 CLI and related testing/debugging workflows.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of software testing principles, including functional, integration, regression, and automated testing.
- Experience analyzing automated test results and troubleshooting test failures.
- Experience with Prometheus and Grafana for monitoring and analyzing system metrics.
- Good understanding of software development and QA processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with developers, architects, business analysts, and DevOps engineers.
- Good English communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience testing distributed or robotics-based systems.
- Experience with sensor-based or real-time systems.
- Knowledge of Linux environments and command-line tools.
- Experience with Docker or containerized test environments.
- Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar CI/CD platforms.
- Experience with performance and reliability testing.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability practices.
