Job description

Primary

Responsibilities

§ Ensure finished product is produced consistently within the quality specifications.

§ Maintain an environment conducive to quality audits.

§ Maintain an environment conducive to quick recognition of unsatisfactory part, component, or finished product quality.

§ Ensure all production processes are in control.

§ Develop and maintain rapport with peers and support departments (maintenance, sanitation, shipping/receiving, etc.) and maintain “team” status.

§ Communicate current issues and all other pertinent information to the department manager, as well as the other Quality Assurance Technician on a daily basis.

§ Ensure that all employees and the plant environment meet FDA regulations and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).

§ Ensure accuracy and legibility of all printed info on wraps, cartons, and cases; code dates, product description, UPC, and all customer required information.

A. Experience

· Food manufacturing or production experience a plus.

· Computer literate

· Technical aptitude

B. Education

· High school diploma or GED required

· Technical background through experience or formal education

C. Decision Making

· Requires independent decision-making.

· Must be capable and willing to make quick decisions and to use good judgement.

D. Working Conditions

· Must be willing to work in all types of temperature variances (extreme hot or extreme cold) and with loud noise at times.

E. Mental, Physical, and Visual Demands

· Must be capable of working throughout the plant and throughout the shift

· Must have good vision and be attentive to detail

· Must be capable of performing multiple tasks at once

· Good listening skills

· Must be objective

· Remain calm during stressful situations

· Must maintain neat and clean appearance

· Receptive to change

· Able to walk and stand for 8 plus hours a shift

· Work around operating equipment, stand, reach, stoop and bend

· Repetitive use of hands, wrists and forearms

· Able to lift and move samples, cases as needed

· Able to use stairs, ladders

F. Confidential Information

· Requires high degree of confidentiality regarding product and process specifications.

G. Communication

· Consistent use of good verbal and written communication skills

· Proficient use of email
