Job description

Mountain Community Health Partnership (MCHP) is seeking a full-time ADAPT (Adaptive Dental Access and Prevention for Children Together) Project Coordinator. ADAPT Project Coordinator will lead a groundbreaking initiative focused on improving dental access and care for children with neurodevelopmental disabilities (NDDs) in Mitchell and Yancey Counties. The ADAPT Initiative is funded through a prestigious HRSA grant and will transform how children with neurodevelopmental disabilities access and experience dental care through sensory-adapted environments, caregiver education, school partnerships, and coordinated healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all day-to-day activities of the ADAPT Initiative.
  • Manage all project timelines, deliverables, and reporting requirements.
  • Monitor program performance and support continuous quality improvement efforts.
  • Prepare progress reports and maintain compliance with federal grant requirements.
  • Collaborate with local schools, healthcare providers, and community partners.
  • Support development of referral pathways for children with neurodevelopmental disabilities.
  • Assist with caregiver coaching and educational programs.
  • Serve as a key liaison between the dental team and community stakeholders
  • When grant responsibilities are completed, provide support for dental front office operations including:
    • Patient registration and scheduling.
    • Insurance verification.
    • Appointment coordination.
    • Patient communication and customer service.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in public health, Healthcare Administration, Social Work, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Experience: Three or more years of healthcare, public health, or community program management experience, preferred. Knowledge of neurodevelopmental disabilities and healthcare coordination. Experience with quality improvement, data tracking, and reporting.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project coordination skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple departments and community organizations.
