Job Summary

As an Agricultural Systems Technician III, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of various mechanical, electrical, and conveying systems/types of industrial equipment for a poultry production plant. You will perform preventative and predictive maintenance, periodic testing, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs. This position supports the daily achievement of production goals through ensuring the proper functionality of our machines, performing all jobs safely, efficiently, and effectively.

Essential Job Functions

  • Repair and perform advanced maintenance on agriculture/industrial machinery under minimal supervision
  • Identify root causes of mechanical and electrical issues and perform essential repairs
  • Perform essential maintenance and routine checks on housing systems
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and track different types of conveyor belts
  • Diagnose and conduct overall conveyor maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and replace or repair various mechanical components
  • Communicate with management regarding tools and supplies
  • Maintain tools and keep work area organized and clean
  • Operate ALL-TERRAIN forklift and standard man-lifts equipment occasionally
  • Actively participate in and promote safety culture
  • Provide leadership or guidance to resolve issues and assign tasks
  • Assist and train other technicians
  • Work around animals in confined areas
  • Follow compliance, food safety, and biosecurity rules
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in industrial, commercial, or facility systems maintenance
  • Strong electrical knowledge and use of advanced electrical testing devices
  • Reading and comprehension skills for SOPs and work instructions
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or schematics
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow or lead work assignments
  • Experience with safety equipment

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • Additional trade or technical school education for maintenance, mechanical, welding, or electrical
  • Maintenance experience in the poultry or agriculture industry

Work Environment

This position requires the physical ability to lift, carry, push, or pull weights of 75+ lbs and to work in various climate conditions, including extreme heat and cold. The role demands the capacity to walk, climb, stand, and sit for extended periods, as well as work at heights up to 75' and in confined spaces. The job is set in a poultry production plant environment, which may involve exposure to animals and confined areas. Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required is essential for this position.
