Job description

In early 2027, Tao Group Hospitality is bringing two distinct dining experiences to Hotel Cala on Tampa’s waterfront. LAVO will make its Tampa debut with signature coastal Italian cuisine and hospitality, while BarOnda will bring a vibrant atmosphere to the Riverwalk with curated cocktails, bites, and waterfront views. Actively takes orders, provides complete food and beverage service, and monitors guests’ dining experience. Interacts with hotel guests, fellow team members, and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner to ensure warm, gracious hospitality. This role requires a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced breakfast environment with early morning start times.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Anticipate and accommodate the needs of guests
  • Maintain general cleanliness of assigned stations and the dining area
  • Provide professional, friendly, and exceptional service
  • Present menus, answer questions, and make recommendations for food and beverage items
  • Inform guests of available food and beverage offerings and specials
  • Ask guests about any food allergies or dietary restrictions and communicate this information appropriately to the team
  • Accurately enter all orders into the POS system and follow proper cash and payment card procedures
  • Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of all food and beverage orders
  • Prepare and serve coffee, espresso beverages, and other breakfast beverages as required
  • Maintain and replenish coffee, beverage, and service stations throughout the shift
  • Follow supervisor instructions, communicate effectively with team members, and contribute to a positive team environment
  • Maintain knowledge of breakfast food and beverage menus, service standards, and company expectations
  • Serve alcoholic beverages in accordance with all applicable state regulations and alcohol awareness training standards, when applicable
  • Comply with Department of Health and company sanitation standards
  • Communicate guest needs and requests to Front-of-House and Heart-of-House support staff, managers, and chefs
  • Properly complete opening procedures as directed by management, including:
  • Ensuring tables, chairs, and service areas are clean and free of debris
  • Setting tables and service areas with proper settings and supplies
  • Wiping down chairs, tables, and other guest areas
    • Stocking side stations, beverage stations, and service areas with required supplies
    • Completing all other opening duties as assigned
    • Complete closing duties as assigned or directed by management
    • Report all breakage and damage of equipment or furniture immediately to management
    • Attend and participate in daily pre-service meetings
    • Attend and participate in training sessions and departmental meetings
    • Learn by listening, observing other team members, and sharing knowledge while leading by example
    • Maintain a positive, professional, and welcoming attitude with guests and team members
    • Demonstrate knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality, its partners, and supporting hotel environments
    • Work collaboratively as part of a team and provide help and support to fellow team members
    • Assist and/ or complete additional tasks as assigned
