Cedarwood Plaza is seeking an organized, dependable Assistant Business Office Manager to support the daily financial and administrative operations of our skilled nursing facility. This position works closely with the Business Office Manager, residents, families, and facility leadership to maintain accurate records, assist with billing and payment processes, and provide helpful, professional service.
Key
Responsibilities
Assist the Business Office Manager with resident billing, accounts receivable, payment posting, and account reconciliation.
Verify insurance coverage and benefits and assist with obtaining necessary payer information.
Support Medicaid application and renewal processes by tracking required documentation and communicating with residents and responsible parties.
Review outstanding balances, follow up on payments, and help resolve billing questions.
Maintain accurate resident financial records and assist with admission and discharge paperwork.
Assist with resident trust fund transactions and recordkeeping in accordance with facility policies.
Coordinate with admissions, nursing, and other departments to ensure timely and accurate billing information.
Prepare reports and assist with month-end activities, audits, and other business office tasks.
Protect the confidentiality of resident and employee information.
Provide respectful, responsive assistance to residents, families, and visitors.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in accounting, business administration, or a related field preferred.
Previous business office, billing, accounts receivable, or administrative experience preferred.
Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care strongly preferred.
Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care billing preferred.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn billing and electronic record systems.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively while handling sensitive information with discretion.
