Job SummaryThe Assistant Project Manager supports the Project Manager in planning, executing, and finalizing commercial construction projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and services. The APM will also assist in defining project objectives and maintaining quality control throughout the project lifecycle, with a specific focus on doors and hardware. Duties/ResponsibilitiesDuties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Assisting the Project Manager in the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Coordinating project activities and ensuring project objectives are met.
  • Communicating with stakeholders to provide updates on project progress.
  • Managing project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Monitoring project progress and addressing issues or delays promptly.
  • Supporting the procurement process, including obtaining quotes and preparing purchase orders.
  • Participating in project meetings and preparing meeting minutes.
  • Supporting the Project Manager in risk management and mitigation strategies.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Various other project management tasks as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
  • 1–2 years of experience in commercial construction, preferably with a focus on doors and hardware.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Familiarity with construction project management software is a plus.

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
