Job description

You will help design, implement, and automate security controls for HPC systems. You will conduct security reviews, respond to security events, manage vulnerabilities, document standards and decisions, support audits, and participate in an on-call incident-response rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Translate technical concepts for scientific, operations, project, and management staff
  • Shape security architecture and lead security reviews
  • Design and automate policy and control assessments
  • Engineer secure software development frameworks, tools, and guardrails
  • Define and implement security standards and technical baselines
  • Analyze, triage, and respond to security-relevant events
  • Serve as a security liaison for projects and external partners
  • Interpret cybersecurity requirements and lead policy implementation
  • Lead vulnerability remediation, patch planning, verification, and approved penetration testing
  • Document cybersecurity procedures, standards, controls, and decision records
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call incident-response rotation

Requirements

  • BS degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field
  • Minimum two years of relevant experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance
  • Pass a pre-placement drug test and participate in ongoing random drug testing
  • Visa sponsorship is not available
