Job description
You will support the engineering and design of new and existing transmission lines. You will prepare specifications, evaluate proposals, develop routing and support-system designs, perform calculations, assist with construction management, coordinate suppliers and contractors, support storm restoration, and maintain design standards and project documentation.
Responsibilities
- Perform engineering assignments using planning and organizational skills
- Perform engineering calculations for transmission line support systems
- Assist with planning, design, and construction management of transmission line projects
- Assist with root cause failure analysis
- Maintain transmission design standards and information systems
- Support storm teams and system operations to restore service
- Procure transmission line structures and equipment with suppliers
- Coordinate with planning, contractors, maintenance groups, and technical groups
- Provide field construction support
- Assist with project closeout and property classification
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineering
- Ability to communicate technical knowledge with engineers and non-technical coworkers
- Ability to exchange information with project management, system operations, planning, accounting, testing, and support areas
- Ability to present facts based on knowledge or research and complete assignments
