This assignment-based role safeguards the integrity and timeliness of the hotel’s financial operations while partnering with the General Manager and operating leaders to protect profitability, controls, and service delivery. - Lead the timely preparation and review of financial statements, forecasts, budgets, operating plans, cash reporting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and required state and federal reporting.
- Monitor revenue, labor, and expense trends; identify financial and operational risks; and provide clear recommendations to the General Manager, operations leaders, and Operations Finance.
- Maintain effective internal controls, segregation of duties, cash-handling procedures, purchasing controls, and approval practices to protect hotel assets and comply with company policies.
- Partner with department heads to manage expenditures, payroll, labor productivity, purchasing, and forecasted operating costs; challenge variances and support corrective action plans.
- Support hotel leadership in reviewing sales activity, group business, rate strategy, market mix, and departmental profitability as needed to improve revenue and GOP performance.
- Maintain productive communication with ownership, auditors, vendors, corporate teams, and property associates as appropriate to the assignment.
- Create a concise handoff at the conclusion of each assignment that documents key deadlines, risks, open items, department staffing needs, and recommended next steps.
- Travel to assigned hotels as business needs require; work schedules, assignment duration, and location may vary, including overnight travel and temporary placement away from the associate’s home location.
