What started in 1972 as a small, three-attorney practice in the historic Country Club District of Kansas City, Missouri, has evolved into Polsinelli, a powerhouse in the American legal landscape. Founded by Jim Polsinelli and two young colleagues, the firm began with a modest goal: to serve business and real estate clients with a practical, business-minded approach. This philosophy—prioritizing the client's business objectives alongside legal strategy—became the bedrock of the firm's culture and fueled its initial growth throughout the Midwest. Over the decades, Polsinelli embarked on a strategic expansion that would transform it from a local entity into an Am Law 100 firm. Through a series of calculated mergers and organic growth, including significant expansions into St. Louis, Chicago, Washington, D.C., and New York, the firm broadened its reach and capabilities. Today, Polsinelli boasts a workforce of over 1,000 attorneys across more than 20 offices nationwide. Despite its massive scale, the firm remains true to its roots, maintaining a reputation for deep client relationships and a collaborative, entrepreneurial spirit. Recognized for its expertise in health care, real estate, finance, and technology, Polsinelli continues to redefine what a law firm should be, blending top-tier legal counsel with a commitment to innovation and client service.
