Job description

We made history and now we work to transform the future – for our customers, our communities and our families. You'll see your work on the road every day, helping people move freely and pursue their dreams. At Ford, you can build more than vehicles. Come build what matters.

Enterprise Technology plays a critical part in shaping the future of mobility. If you’re looking for the chance to leverage advanced technology to redefine the transportation landscape, enhance the customer experience and improve people’s lives, this is the opportunity for you. Join us and challenge your IT expertise and analytical skills to help create vehicles that are as smart as you are.

In this position...

As a Business Analyst on the ITOM/ITAM team, you’ll work with IT stakeholders to understand business needs, analyze process and data issues, and help move improvements from discovery through implementation and adoption. You’ll coordinate with Platform, Architecture, and other teams, track work and dependencies, and support communications and training.

You’ll apply your current knowledge of ServiceNow, CMDB, and IT asset management to the work, while building deeper expertise in CSDM and related capabilities. Depending on experience, you may take increasing ownership of initiatives over time. Strategic work may include CMDB Data Quality initiatives and support for the Event Management MVP rollout; technical implementation and architecture decisions remain with the appropriate partner teams.

What you'll do

  • Analyze CMDB data-quality issues, identify root causes, and coordinate sustainable solutions with the appropriate teams.
  • Triage incoming requests, clarify requirements and priorities with stakeholders, and help drive timely resolution.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business and IT processes and coordinate enhancements through implementation and adoption.
  • Gather, document, and translate stakeholder needs into clear business requirements, action plans, and acceptance criteria.
  • Coordinate communications, documentation, and training to support adoption of processes and tools across IT.
  • Track initiative status, action items, risks, and dependencies; maintain Jira backlogs and boards as needed.
  • Partner with Platform, Architecture, and other cross-functional teams on process, data, and technology initiatives.
  • Apply CSDM principles when contributing to CI classification, data modeling, and CMDB structure discussions, while escalating architectural decisions to the appropriate owners.
  • Take increasing ownership of projects and initiatives as experience and role level grow.

You'll have

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in Business Analysis, IT Service Management, IT Asset Management, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to gather requirements, clarify business needs, and communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Experience using backlog, task-tracking, or work-management tools such as Jira.
  • Experience supporting process improvement initiatives, with the ability to independently lead initiatives based on experience and role level.
Even better, you may have
  • Working knowledge of the Common Service Data Model (CSDM), or the ability and willingness to develop expertise in this area.
  • ServiceNow certifications such as CSA, CIS-ITSM, or CIS-HAM.
  • ITIL Foundation certification.
  • Experience with Event Management or IT Operations Management (ITOM).
  • Experience working within a large, matrixed enterprise IT environment.
  • Familiarity with IT asset and financial lifecycle processes, including procurement, depreciation, reconciliation, and asset tracking.
  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow, particularly CMDB and Hardware Asset Management (HAM), or experience with comparable ITSM or asset-management platforms.
