This role serves as a key bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams within a mortgage and real estate finance environment. You will analyze system usage, gather complex requirements, and translate business needs into clear functional solutions. The position combines business analysis, quality initiatives, testing, and technology optimization across critical systems. You will work closely with stakeholders to define project objectives, prioritize requirements, and support successful implementations. Your expertise will help identify system issues, improve user experiences, and strengthen the quality and effectiveness of technology solutions. The role offers a collaborative environment where strong communication, organization, and mortgage industry knowledge are highly valued. You will also serve as a subject matter expert while helping projects move efficiently from discovery through testing and completion.
Accountabilities
- Gather, review, analyze, and document system and user requirements from business stakeholders.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project goals, scope, timelines, priorities, and expected outcomes.
- Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications to support development, testing, and implementation.
- Monitor and analyze system usage, including overrides, exceptions, validation handling, recurring errors, and inefficient user workflows.
- Analyze user feedback, survey results, usage statistics, and other information to validate requirements and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Track, organize, and prioritize assigned projects while proactively communicating status, risks, delays, and roadblocks.
- Adjust project plans and priorities in response to changing requirements, business needs, or project scope.
- Participate in discussions with application analysts and technology teams to ensure consistency and synergy across systems.
- Support quality initiatives and proactively identify potential problems or roadblocks before they affect delivery.
- Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test preparation, execution, progress tracking, results reporting, and issue management.
- Support product and system demonstrations by helping prepare relevant materials and scenarios.
- Handle day-to-day business and technology requests while maintaining strong service and stakeholder relationships.
- Provide constructive feedback and communicate project or team performance information to management as appropriate.
- Complete assigned projects within established timelines and contribute to additional initiatives and training as needed.
Requirements
- College degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience, typically at an Analyst, Senior Analyst, QA Analyst, Technology Analyst, or comparable level.
- More than 5 years of experience in mortgage, technology, secondary market, or closely related environments.
- Knowledge of finance or mortgage banking is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience gathering and analyzing business requirements and translating them into functional designs.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance, system analysis, testing, and technology implementation processes.
- Experience analyzing system usage, identifying issues, and developing actionable recommendations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to provide objective, constructive feedback with professionalism and diplomacy.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based systems, particularly Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
- Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, teamwork, and accountability.
- Ability to anticipate potential issues and take proactive steps to resolve them.
- Flexibility to support changing business needs and schedules.
- Willingness to travel occasionally, as required.
Benefits
- Annual full-time base salary range of $90,000–$110,000, with final compensation based on experience, education, skills, geographic location, and market considerations.
