Job description

SUMMARY

The Commercial Portfolio Manager (CPM) partners closely with lenders, clients, and internal teams to deliver sound financial solutions while ensuring compliance with credit standards and risk guidelines. This role supports Commercial Bankers in step with Credit partners to deliver credit solutions through underwriting, portfolio management, and extensive internal and external client interaction. The CPM is expected to be a subject matter expert in the respective portfolio and adhere to all regulatory and compliance guidelines.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Participate in or lead in-person and virtual client calls with Commercial Bankers for in-depth financial questions, deal information, collection of financial statements, and other portfolio management requirements

Work closely with Commercial Support team associates, Loan Officers, and Credit partners in the administration of new and existing loan relationships

Provide guidance, instruction, and leadership to assigned Commercial Support team

Collaborate with lenders and support staff on maturing loans, restructures, and risk mitigation strategies

Monitor portfolio performance, including loan renewals, covenant compliance, documentation tracking, exception reporting, and delinquencies

Lead the underwriting process for renewal opportunities for clients within an assigned portfolio and support assigned lenders in initiating and fostering new opportunities through the credit process

Provide in-depth analysis of financial statements, management competencies, industry impact, competitive dynamics, collateral, and guarantor support for new/renewal opportunities and other credit risk management deliverables

Proactively monitor emerging credit concerns

Serve as a primary point of contact between internal teams, clients, and external partners such as attorneys and advisors

Generate portfolio reports and provide insights to support decision-making and performance tracking

Recommend enhancements to lending policies and procedures based on market trends and portfolio needs

Assist with compliance and regulatory reviews

Support business development efforts by participating in client meetings, sales calls, and local market activities

Participate in special projects to aid with the continuous improvement of portfolio management

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting, or related field or equivalent work experience

Prior experience in loan underwriting, credit analysis, and portfolio management, preferably within commercial banking

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL

QUALIFICATIONS

Standing, walking, bending and stooping required

Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time and use a computer

Must be able to occasionally move or lift up to 10 pounds

May be asked to work supplemental hours periodically

Limited travel required occasionally during and after business hours

Salary Pay Range: $90,134 - $156,808 annually
