Complex Sales Manager

Pay Rate:

$156,600 - $208,800

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range. Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP’s annual and long-term incentive plans.

The Job You Will Perform:

The Sales Manager is responsible for leading the commercial execution and profitable growth of the Preprint business. This role leads a team of six regional sales representatives and is accountable for sales strategy, pipeline development, customer growth, profitability, and team performance.

Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Growth

  • Develop and execute a sales strategy aligned with business and financial objectives.
  • Identify markets, and opportunities where the business has a strong right to win.
  • Drive profitable growth while protecting and expanding existing business.
  • Partner with National Accounts and other commercial teams to identify growth opportunities.

Sales Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop six sales representatives.
  • Establish clear expectations and accountability for performance.
  • Conduct regular performance (PEP) conversations

Pipeline & Commercial Discipline

  • Own pipeline quality, forecasting, and Salesforce execution.
  • Confirm profitability and operational fit before committing significant resources.
  • Use data and financial analysis to guide commercial decisions and resource allocation.

Customer & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Maintain strong relationships with key customers while ensuring appropriate account ownership within the sales team.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, customer needs, and potential share loss.
  • Partner with Operations, Finance, Pricing, Customer Service, and National Accounts to align commercial priorities with business capabilities.

The successful Sales Manager will set clear priorities, use data to make decisions, develop the sales team, create accountability, anticipate commercial risks and opportunities, and provide leadership with a credible view of the business and its growth pipeline.
