Job description

At E Tech Group, joining our team means joining a group of passionate and forward-thinking experts. We’re one of the largest engineering and system integration firms in the United States providing value for our clients through IT automation and control solutions for more than 30 years to the Life Sciences, Mission Critical, Metals & Mining, Warehousing & Distribution, and CPG/Food & Beverage industries. Our national and global scale allows us to help our clients develop and implement standardized solutions at any of their facilities regardless of physical location or the local resources available at that site.

We're adding to our team! We are seeking an IT/OT Director of Operations and Cybersecurity to lead industrial network engineering and OT security service delivery across plant, power, and manufacturing environments. In this role, you will guide team operations, staffing, project execution, quality, client relationships, and the security architecture standards behind each engagement. Working closely with Business Unit (BU) managers and project managers, you will be comfortable walking a client executive through project status and financials or reviewing a zone-and-conduit diagram with a plant engineer, while helping the team deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes that support revenue and margin growth.

You will:

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of network and OT security engineers by setting priorities, managing staffing and workload, and closing capability gaps to support 5x growth.
  • Own practice delivery, including scheduling, resource allocation, quality assurance, and issue resolution, so work is delivered on time, on budget, and to spec.
  • Partner with sales and BU leadership on pursuits, project expectations, escalations, and delivery accountability.
  • Own project financials, including budgets, utilization, forecasting, proposals, and SOWs alongside sales; review scope, staffing, deliverables, risks, and margin expectations before work begins.
  • Set delivery standards and metrics for quality, timeliness, and client satisfaction while improving playbooks, assessments, and productized deliverables.
  • Support smooth project kickoffs by aligning clients, BU managers, project managers, and technical teams on scope, outcomes, roles, risks, and expectations.
  • Help resolve project and technical issues by engaging the right people quickly and effectively.
  • Serve as the senior technical voice for clients’ IT/OT convergence strategy across IT, OT, and business stakeholders.
  • Guide technical direction for network segmentation aligned to the Purdue model and IEC 62443 zones and conduits.
  • Lead the deployment and operation of OT visibility and threat detection platforms, ensuring detections support actionable operational response.
  • Oversee client network design and maintenance, including Cisco switching, DNA Center, next-generation firewalls, and Cisco ISE/802.1X, while promoting consistent quality and documentation standards.
  • Build secure remote access programs that replace ad hoc jump boxes and shared credentials with a standardized approach.
  • Lead OT incident-response readiness, including playbooks, tabletop exercises, and containment actions that consider process safety and production impact.
  • Set clear standards for documentation and reporting across configurations, policies, procedures, and compliance/audit deliverables.
  • Serve as an ambassador who embodies our Core Values, prioritizing the success of E Tech Group, our clients, and the professional development of our associates.

You have:

  • 8+ years of network security or engineering experience with OT exposure, including leadership of engineers, projects, budgets, or client-facing teams.
  • Strong technical service delivery experience in plant, power generation, or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience leading IT/OT integration or convergence in industrial settings.
  • Experience partnering with sales on client relationships, proposals, and SOWs for technical engagements.
  • Experience hiring, developing, and scaling technical teams to meet demand.
  • Working knowledge of the Purdue model and IEC 62443, with the ability to explain zone-and-conduit designs to OT and audit audiences.
  • Hands-on experience with OT detection and asset inventory platforms such as Dragos, Claroty, or Cisco Cyber Vision.
  • Active Cisco CCNP Security certification, or equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge of Cisco FTD, ISE/802.1X, and Catalyst/DNA Center environments.
  • Familiarity with industrial protocol traffic patterns, including EtherNet/IP, CIP, Modbus TCP, PROFINET, OPC UA, and DNP3.
  • Ability to build alignment between IT and OT teams, communicate clearly across both groups, and balance competing priorities.
  • A DNA comprised of collaboration and teamwork.

You may have:

  • PMP or similar project/program management credential.
  • Operational experience in industrial sectors such as energy, utilities, water/wastewater, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, or pulp and paper.
  • Security certifications such as GICSP, GRID, CISSP, or similar.
  • NERC CIP or TSA security directive experience in power, transmission, or pipeline environments.
  • Experience managing large-scale budgets, staffing, proposals, or SOWs.
  • Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK for ICS for detection engineering or tabletop design.
  • Awareness of safety instrumented systems and how security intersects with process safety.
  • Familiarity with cloud security and SASE/SSE concepts.
  • Network automation experience with Ansible, Python, or infrastructure-as-code.
  • Experience developing training materials or speaking at industry conferences.
