DATA SCIENTIST
Job description
Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) mission is to lead the Department of Defense (DoD) in finance and accounting by ensuring the delivery of efficient, exceptional quality pay and financial information.
Performs data analytics functions to include the application development of analytics, measures, and metrics to help foster performance towards service targets, objectives and goals in order to influence agency business decisions.
Makes recommendations on best practices to improve predictive analytics, data sampling, data warehousing processes, and other uses of advanced analytics and information technology.
Identifies trends, correlations, and causations within large datasets to provide a synopsis of emerging trends, challenges, and recommendations for change.
Develops mathematical, and/or statistical models for evaluation, identification, collection, and analysis of all data used to support assigned projects or program(s).
Utilizes a variety of quantitative analyses, operations research tools and techniques, and other appropriate quantitative methodologies.
