Summary

Provide secretarial and office management support.

Major Job Functions

The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job. The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below. In addition, specific functions may change from time to time:

  • Coordinates office functions to provide clerical support to the designated department
  • Types and distributes letters, reports, and memorandums as requested
  • Ensures accurate ordering of supplies and work orders by department
  • Answers phone and relays accurate messages and information to staff
  • Records department meeting minutes for distribution to staff as requested
  • Prepares and documents department time logs for distribution to payroll as requested
  • Other duties as assigned
  • The Rehab Therapy Department Secretary will complete all the ordering of equipment and supplies for the various clinics; complete the master therapy schedule daily; schedule w/c evaluations; schedule swallowing evaluations, answering phone calls; making reminder calls for appointments and working with PFS on occasion. The role is extremely valuable to the entire department.

Minimum Qualifications

The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:

Education and Formal Training:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Work Experience:

  • 2 years of prior secretarial / clerical experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and delegate as needed
  • Must understand medical terminology
  • Good interpersonal skills required
  • Must be able to operate a computer
  • Must be able to read all forms of written information

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to hear and to communicate orally and in written form
  • Must be able to tolerate long periods of sitting
