Direct Support Professional - Chittenango

Advocates is seeking a Mentor (DSP/1:1 support staff) to support a kind and active young man with a developmental disability. He and his family are looking for a Mentor to assist him with working on his goals both at home and in her community. Goals include: • Learning Fine Motor Skills - Picking up small items, managing buttons, and small switches • Social skills - making community connections and friendships, initiating conversations• Independent living skills - grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning• Participate in hobbies and interest to be more involved in community life Seeking a DSP who is reliable, enthusiastic, creative, active, and has a calm nature about them. Related experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred but not required. Please respond with a resume or summary of experience.

Candidate must possess a keen sense of attention to detail, especially when electronically logging each day's time, mileage, and service documentation. DSP must have a valid email address.Hours and days of work

Tuesday and Thursday (9 AM - 5 PM)

Full-time opportunities may be available.

Pay rate: $21 per hour when providing direct support. The hourly rate for indirect/training is $16 per hour.

Location: Chittenango, NY
