This position is a field (remote) role, supporting an assigned district and leading a high‑performing sales team to strengthen Kubota’s market presence, develop dealer networks, and drive strategic growth.
What You Will Do
As the District Sales Manager, you will lead, direct, and manage a team of Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) to achieve wholesale and retail sales objectives, expand market share, and protect company assets. Key responsibilities include:
Guide, coach, and monitor RSMs in sales operations, dealer development, performance management, and execution of sales and finance programs.
Forecast, allocate, and distribute inventory to ensure dealers receive sufficient product based on availability and market needs.
Recruit, motivate, assign work, and evaluate RSM performance to ensure alignment with district goals.
Visit key dealers with RSMs to strengthen Kubota’s representation, build relationships, and support dealer business needs.
Monitor dealer activity, address underperformance, and take corrective actions including retail improvement plans or contract terminations when necessary.
Assist dealers and customers via phone and email, resolving issues and maintaining high satisfaction levels.
Provide input for departmental sales budgets and manage district resources within established constraints.
Communicate market conditions and trends to corporate leadership to support strategic adjustments and new program development.
What We Are Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
6–8 years of experience in sales management, marketing, or account development within heavy equipment or ag‑equipment industries.
Extensive experience in dealership development, including sales growth initiatives, performance improvement, and implementation of industry best practices.
Proven experience managing dealership network changes such as buy‑sells, mergers, relocations, facility upgrades, contract changes, and terminations.
Ability to effectively train, lead, and motivate a team to achieve assigned goals.
Strong customer relationship, sales, and negotiation skills.
Solid business acumen including accounting, logistics/distribution, forecasting, and sales/marketing techniques.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, SAP, and the ability to learn additional software tools.
Ability to travel 30-50% of the year.
Comfortable working in a remote environment while managing a geographically distributed team.
Physical Requirements
Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, to permit the employee to function in a general office environment and accomplish tasks and duties as outlined above.
