About the Company
Our client is a fully integrated electrical power system services firm delivering end‑to‑end solutions across utility, renewable energy, battery storage, industrial, petrochemical, and other critical infrastructure markets. Based in Houston, Texas, the company leverages deep subject‑matter expertise and an engineering‑led approach to designing, installing, testing, and maintaining medium‑ and high‑voltage electrical infrastructure for clients locally, nationally, and internationally.
Position Overview
Graduate of a two-year drafting program with an average minimum of three years job experience including substations; capable of efficiently utilizing electronic drawing production tools. Manual drafting skills may also be required. Services include electronic drawing production and modification with limited manual drafting needs. Position requires technical and administrative supervision.
Responsibilities
- Applies principles and techniques of acquired experience to accomplish tasks
- Produces mechanical drawings for construction purposes such as equipment arrangement plans, section views, cable tray plans, switchgear building layouts, and installation details, grounding details, conduit details, foundation details, and steel details
- Produces section views, elevations, and details from plan drawings with limited guidance
- Produces electrical schematic diagrams
- Produces wiring and interconnect drawings from schematics with limited guidance
- Controls quality and consistency of drafted documents
- Provides adaptations to common designs
- Understands common industry practices
- Works effectively in a team environment
- Reports to team supervisor

- 2–5 years’ experience
- Electrical substation experience required
