At EK Machine, our drivers play a critical role in supporting production by safely and efficiently transporting materials, products, and equipment between customers, vendors, and company locations. As an EK Machine driver, you'll operate company tractors and trailers, ensure timely deliveries and pickups, and represent our organization professionally while on the road. SUMMARYExperienced and reliable Company Driver who is safety orientated and has a CDL.Works Monday – Friday with voluntary work on some Saturdays. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Drives semi, box truck, yard truck and other EK Machine equipment daily.

• Hauls oversize load to and from vendors and customers.

• Loads and unloads trucks following safety procedures dictated by Lead Driver.

• Works in other departments as production dictates

• Obtains and maintains a forklift certification through the company.

• Maintains a valid class A CDL license and State required training. (cost associated with maintaining the CDL license and cost of the physical is paid for by EK Machine Company Inc.)

• Inspects truck prior to use per state requirements and as trained by EK Machine Company Inc. Alerts his or hers manager that the trucks may need repair or maintenance.

• On trips over 150 air miles (non-CDL) and 100 miles CDL must fill out daily logs.

• Drives in a safe manner and follows all Wisconsin and other states road rules as well as company rules

• The driver is not required to drive out of state and is only required to drive distances within his or hers daily production hours unless mutually agreed upon to drive out of state or drive distances that would require over night stay.

• Does not talk on the cell phone while driving unless he or she is using the headset provided by the company.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma or GED; one to three months related experience or training. Equivalent combination of education and experience. Class A interstate CDL driver’s license with air brakes endorsement is required LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos, as well as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to other employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
