Job Summary\:

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is recruiting an Events and Marketing Professional who will assist with planning and overseeing both department and divisional events, event marketing, and social media for the department in partnership with the Events and Marketing Core team. This includes a variety of Continuing Medical Education (CME) courses, including larger events throughout the year at offsite locations, such as the Department’s Annual Vail OB-GYN Conference.

This position will work in a collaborative, close relationship with the department’s Events and Marketing Core Team, which includes the Director of Operations, Events and Marketing Coordinator, Department CME & Education Coordinator, and the Web Development and Marketing Professional. This individual will partner with this team to establish the schedules and work processes that contribute to the ongoing development, analysis and evaluations of existing and proposed events, and marketing within the department. This position is responsible for representing the department in the utmost professional manner to attendees, exhibitors, faculty, and community members.

In addition to event planning, this position will partner with the Events and Marketing Professional to complete social media updates, write content, update the website, and advertise events for the department. This individual will also create print and digital marketing materials and signage for department events including ordering promotional materials and swag. This individual is also responsible for planning, producing, and analyzing the effectiveness of digital communications for the Department of OB-GYN's education and clinical groups alongside the Events and Marketing Core team. This work also happens across a variety of platforms including email, event registration and websites. This position will work with clinical faculty and staff to create creative content for various department and divisional marketing efforts including visual, copywriting, story creation, and video editing (as needed).

Key Responsibilities\:

  • Facilitates national and local conferences and meetings for departmental and divisional leadership. This includes the scheduling and coordination for national, regional, and local speakers, sponsors and guests as needed by the various events.
  • Tracks budgets for events and marketing.
  • Coordinates procurement for travel logistics and events related to speakers.
  • Provide event-related support for regular and annual educational activities with our faculty and staff.
  • Assists with Community Engagement events and provide support to divisional community events.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with local organizations that support and engage women
  • Produces and maintains social media editorial content for department and divisional social media accounts.
  • Develop content and creative storytelling for social media targeted at engaging specific audiences including community members, donors, alumni, potential trainees, conference attendees, etc.
  • Produce multimedia content such as Instagram reels, quality photography, and quality infographics.
  • Creates digital and print materials for event marketing and educational seminars.
  • Manage social media communities – monitoring, listening, recording and responding appropriately.

Work Location\:

Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications\:

Minimum Qualifications\:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, public relations, communications, business administration, business, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

    • Substitution\: A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

  • 2 years of professional experience directly related to event planning and marketing.

    • Substitution\: An advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate) may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis if the degree is in a field of study directly related to the work assignment.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications\:

  • 3-5 years of professional experience directly related to event planning and marketing.
  • Experience working with Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with University of Colorado procurement systems (i.e. Concur, Marketplace, Cvent etc.).
  • Experience booking travel arrangements (airfare, hotel, rental cars, etc.).
  • Experience with multimedia production (photography and videography) and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience working in Canva.
  • Experience working in Sitefinity (website platform).
  • Meeting and event planning experience, including contract negotiation, exhibitor management, and catering.
  • Experience working within branding guidelines

Competencies/Knowledge, Skills and Abilities\:

  • Expertise in contract negotiation, exhibitor management, and catering selection.
  • Knowledge of social media standard processes and community management for platforms including, but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn and TikTok.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Ability to develop and manage budgets and carry out the fiscal responsibilities of the position.
  • Ability to manage projects in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Ability to establish priorities and meet competing deadlines.

Anticipated Pay Range\:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $56,787 - $76,095.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
